How we check camp lists

Every camp page starts from the camp's own packing list: a page or PDF on the camp's website. We record its address, the year printed on it, and the date we read it, and show all three on the page.

We copy the items, quantities and rules as the camp writes them, sorted into groups. We do not add items the camp did not ask for. Where a list was an image, we typed it from the image and say so in our notes.

The only things we add: the count of how many of our camp lists ask for the same item, and an Amazon search for items you can buy. Those links are affiliate links; the search is for the kind of item, so check sizes against the camp's rule.

We re-read every list before each summer season and update the date on the page.
